The Dating Status
Button Store

Frequently Asked Questions

It seems weird to wear your dating status on a button.
Dating Status Buttons are intended for environments where you might want people to know your dating status such as clubs, parties, conventions, etc. They are not the sort of thing that you should wear to work or to the supermarket, unless you are trying to meet people at the supermarket.

If I have an "Available" button, will people take it the wrong way?
Some people assume that if you are available, you are interested in them. The fact of life is that you will meet these kinds of losers with or without a Dating Status Button. The advantage of having the button is that more favorable people will also have the information that you are available.

Why isn't there a circle for kink?
When designing the buttons, I selected the three key pieces of information that one needs to determine if a person is available. Ultimately, one reads the button and either determines "available to me" or "not available to me". For some people kink is a required trait. For others, geekiness, gothiness, employment, or any number of other traits are required.

The other consideration is that the number of button varieties is equal to the product of the varieties of circles. At present, there are 2 poly options, 4 sexual orientation options, and 3 availability options. 2 x 4 x 3 = 24. Remove the four Monogamous - Involved Available, which do not make sense, and there are the 20 buttons on the page. If I added a kink circle with top, bottom, switch, and vanilla, that would increase the number of buttons available to 80, which would be a production nightmare.

Fear not, kinky-folk, I have considered your needs. If you wish to express kinkiness, find a clothes pin and attach it to the button. Attach it to the top if you are a top, bottom if you are a bottom and side if you are a switch.

Why are there no transexual buttons?
The three circles represent poly preference, sexual orientation, and availability. Transexuality does not fit into any of those three categories thus it does not go on the button.
